Janet Amirault
President and Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Amirault has led Software Consortium from its beginnings as a small Baltimore based Commercial services firm to a diversified firm that serves clients in multiple markets, as well as State, Federal and local governments.  Through her leadership, Software Consortium has enjoyed a compounded profitable growth rate of 15% or more, consistently year after year, for the past 17 years. She has won recognition for her business leadership as a Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise, as a Smart CEO Brava Award recipient, and from Baltimore Business Journal as one of the Largest Software Development Firms (6th in region) and a Top Woman-Owned Firm (12th largest in region), among other distinctions. Software Consortium is certified as a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) as well as Maryland State MBE/ DBE.

Prior to joining Software Consortium, Ms. Amirault had 20 years management experience in business software solution development, project management, training, organizational development, and general business management at Fortune 100 companies including Citicorp, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, McCormick, Alexander and Alexander and others. She received her Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Loyola University and has advanced business management training from Case University, Johns Hopkins University and M.I.T.


Donald Acker
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Acker has 15 plus years of professional accounting and financial experience in government contracting, information technology, and commercial environments. He oversees annual audit activities, execution, testing, maintenance of internal controls, and management of securities and cash portfolios, as well as other liquid assets.

Prior to joining Software Consortium, Mr. Acker held management positions with InfoZen, Eagle Design, McDonald Bradley, Inc, Subsystem Technologies and American Express Tax and Business Services (TBS) (now RSM McGladrey).   He has been recognized as a SmartCFO by SmartCEO Magazine. Mr. Acker received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is an active CPA in the State of Maryland, a member of the MACPA and AICPA, and is the current Chair for the Government Contractors Committee of the MACPA.


David Beall
Controller

Mr. Beall brings over 22 years of financial management experience with Information Technology firms to his role as Software Consortium’s Controller. Mr. Beall directly manages the company’s financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting and the accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset accounting functions.

With a specialization in government contracting practices, his previous employment includes financial leadership roles with SIM-G Technologies, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), and Applied Ordnance Technology, Inc. Mr. Beall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bowie State University.


Scott Bolden
Vice President, Human Resources

Mr. Bolden is a 30 year veteran of Information Technology environments with 20 years experience in senior management positions. He led Resource Management for Software Consortium’s Washington DC practice and has supported multi-million dollar projects with the US Department of Energy (DOE), AMTRAK, Maryland State initiatives as well as projects for our commercial clients. Mr Bolden has presented for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on diversity in the workplace as well as on leadership topics for other clients.

Before joining Software Consortium, Mr. Bolden was the Director of Information Technology at the National Geographic Society where he led a variety of initiatives to transform automation efforts. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science and Psychology from the University of Maryland, training in organizational leadership from Case University and has been a licensed Practitioner of the Insights Discovery® system.


Nancy Clifford
Vice President, Recruiting

Ms. Clifford has led recruiting for Software Consortium's consulting practice for more than fifteen years. Previously having served Software Consortium as Director of Human Resources and Resource Management, she is expert in matching the right consulting team to client needs, ensuring that Software Consortium delivers the right expertise to each client.

Ms. Clifford previously held positions in marketing, computer operations, and facilities at Software Consortium and other leading Baltimore area businesses. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Towson University.


Ken Mattola
Practice Director

As Practice Director, Ken Mattola brings portfolio/program management and technical oversight to the consulting practice. He has over 20 years of increasingly responsible information technology program management experience, with deep expertise in healthcare IT, enterprise architecture, technology implementations and business solutions. He has provided project management and program management services to leading national healthcare institutions.

Mattola holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.


Kevin Nelson
Practice Director

Kevin Nelson’s role as Practice Director is to provide technical oversight and program management to account teams. He has over 20 years experience leading mission critical projects, with deep experience in healthcare and finance. Nelson has served clients as a technical project manager, PMO advisor, technical lead, architect and developer, managing projects for large enterprise clients, centered around business process re-engineering/management, workflow automation and document/content management technologies.

Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Villa Julie College.


Austin Bachmann
Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Bachmann brings more than 25 years of diverse sales and management experience in Information Technology, as well as marketing and operations management in new media and publishing industries. Mr. Bachmann co-led Software Consortium’s diversification into the Washington DC market as well as State of Maryland. He has established the company as a preferred provider to clients such as Amtrak, and commercial clients in the DC and Northern Virginia market.

Prior to joining Software Consortium, Mr. Bachman held sales management positions with SAVVIS, Gannett Co., Capital-Gazette, InSight Express (subsidiary of NFO Worldwide). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University and a Master of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Baltimore.


Brian Zernhelt
Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Zernhelt has over 25 years leading technology solution services in the Information Technology and Hospitality industries. He has been instrumental in establishing Software Consortium as a preferred provider for state and local governments and has doubled revenue in these market segments. Mr. Zernhelt has increased and strengthened our partnerships with other established contractors with his approach to teaming.

Prior to joining Software Consortium, Mr. Zernhelt managed technology sales for MICROS Systems and MOBILE-Shop. He founded a successful recruiting company and managed numerous high profile clients in four and five star resorts and casinos, including Ritz Carlton, Caesars Hotel and Casino and others. Mr. Zernhelt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Speech Communications from Shippensburg College.
