Software Consortium seeks a full-time Assistant Recruiter to work in its growing Silver Spring, Maryland office location. This is an outstanding learning and growth opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate looking to become involved in recruiting activities.

The Assistant Recruiter is responsible for supporting various aspects of Software Consortium*s recruitment efforts. Our Recruiters are responsible for sourcing and qualifying Information Technology candidates to join our professional services consulting culture of excellence. The ideal candidate will work with our Recruiters to assist with searches, screen resumes, draft candidate profiles, set up interviews, and a variety of other recruitment-related activities. They must possess at least a general understanding of the IT arena and be familiar with IT terminology.

This is a new position due to Software Consortium*s continued growth in the marketplace. The ideal candidate will have an interest to learn and grow into increased areas of responsibility within the IT Professional Services and Recruitment arena.

Initial responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in candidate sourcing, recruiting and hiring activities
  • Answer applicant phone calls and serve as a first point of contact
  • Maintain/coordinate schedules for interviews, technical interviews, secondary interviews, etc.
  • Maintain database of candidates and related tracking information
  • Format and prepare candidate resumes for submittal
  • Organize and track job board postings and submissions
  • Assist with additional projects and duties as needed

Work experience requirements:

  • Preferred experience and interest in the staffing and/or IT arena
  • Open to learning
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail while adapting to rapidly changing priorities
  • Capability to organize multiple tasks and seamlessly switch between them
  • Strong writing and verbal skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite (primarily Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communications skills with the desire and capability to interact with IT candidates with varying backgrounds and interests.

Education requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree
