FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, March 31, 2011
Baltimore, MD, March 31, 2011 – When CEO Janet Amirault and her team began planning the celebration of their firm’s 20th anniversary, they wanted it to reflect company themes, so incorporating “learning opportunity” and “fun” topped the list of parameters. And because the company has accomplished impressive revenue growth through the recession, is expanding to larger facilities in this anniversary month, and has overcome numerous challenges--some dramatic--the concept of “scaling new heights” seemed especially appropriate.
On April 1, April Fool’s Day, Software Consortium marks 20 years of providing high impact IT consulting services to its mid-market, enterprise, and governmental clients in the Baltimore-Washington, DC area. The company’s executive team and staff will celebrate their collective achievements with a catered luncheon and tour at Maryland’s own Boordy Vineyards, inspired by Amirault’s 2010 family vacation where she toured the vineyards of France and learned about the art of wine-making. “The craftsmanship of wine-making is something none of our team knew much about, so the learning opportunity was there in a fun and different way. Although we are a high-tech firm, mastery of our craft is a crucial value we provide to clients. We selectively hire skilled people who also embrace learning, then support them in keeping skills sharp so we continually deliver high-impact, high ROI results to our clients,” explained Amirault.
The second leg of the afternoon’s observation will take the group to Gerstung’s Gym in Baltimore. Executives and staff will pit themselves against the physical rigors of Gerstung’s Rock Climbing and Rappelling Wall, Bouldering Wall, Trapeze Swing, Tumble Track Tramp, and Equinox equipment. “We thought these physical activities would be a fun way for our execs and staff to work together differently from the types of challenges our teams normally overcome,” said Peter Fianu, company CIO.
Amirault added, “As part of the community for 20 years, the choice to support local businesses, Boordy Vineyards, Gerstung Inter-sport, and have our lunch catered by Sunshine Grille, was another component we wanted to bring into the celebration.”
